How to Install Litematica on DonutSMP (2026 Guide)

Step-by-step guide to install Fabric, Litematica and MaLiLib so you can paste any Donut Schematics .litematic file on DonutSMP.

Litematica is the mod that makes Donut Schematics actually usable in-game. It loads a.litematic or.schem file and projects a ghost hologram of the build in your world so you can place blocks one by one. This guide walks through a clean install on Minecraft Java 1.21+ for DonutSMP.

What you need

  • Minecraft Java Edition (any 1.20.x or 1.21.x)
  • The Fabric launcher and Fabric Loader
  • Litematica and MaLiLib (the required dependency)
  • A schematic from Donut Schematics

Step 1, Install Fabric

Download the Fabric installer from the official Fabric site, run it, pick your Minecraft version and click Install. Open the Minecraft launcher and you should see a new Fabric profile in the dropdown.

Step 2, Add Litematica and MaLiLib

  1. Download the matching Litematica build for your MC version from Modrinth.
  2. Download MaLiLib for the same MC version, Litematica will not load without it.
  3. Drop both .jar files into .minecraft/mods.
  4. Launch the Fabric profile and check the Mods menu, both should be active.

Step 3, Load a schematic

Download any schematic from Donut Schematics and move the file into .minecraft/schematics. In game, press M to open the Litematica menu, choose Load Schematic, pick the file and click Load. Place it where you want to build and the hologram appears.

Step 4, Build it on DonutSMP

Open the AH cost panel on the schematic page to see exactly how many blocks you need and the live Auction House prices. Gather the materials, then place blocks inside the hologram. Litematica's material list (M → Material List) shows what's left as you go.

Common issues

  • Mod doesn't load: Litematica and MaLiLib versions must match the MC version exactly.
  • Hologram invisible: press M → Render Layers and reset the layer mode to All.
  • Wrong rotation: hold the schematic tool and scroll to rotate before placing.

That's the whole setup. Pick a base, megabuild or farm from the library and start pasting, every schematic on Donut Schematics is tested against this exact workflow.
