THE DONUTSMP FLOOD WAR
Flood machines turned DonutSMP into two camps: the players washing bases off the map, and the players sponging them back. Here's how both sides work, and the free schematics for each.

Flood Machine
A self-propelled flying machine that drags a water source behind it. Point it at a base, let it run, and everything below it disappears under water until someone stops it.

Flooded area is the share of scanned blocks that are under water. Flooded rtp is how often a random teleport in that region lands with flooding in view.
HOW A FLOOD MACHINE WORKS
At its core a flood machine is a standard slime-block flying machine: two pistons and two observers pushing each other forward forever. What makes it a flood machine is the payload, a water source carried along with the machine, spilling continuously as it travels.
Because it keeps moving on its own, one player can launch a machine and walk away. It will keep flooding until it hits an unpushable block, runs out of chunk loading, or somebody breaks the loop by hand.
HOW TO STOP ONE
The machine dies the moment its push-pull cycle breaks. Mine one observer or one piston and the whole thing stalls. Obsidian, bedrock or any block a piston can't move placed in its path stops it before it arrives, which is why flood-proof bases are built inside an unpushable shell.
After that it's cleanup: sponges soak up the water fast, and a stack of them in a chest near your entrance turns a raid into an inconvenience instead of a disaster.
