Best DonutSMP XP Farms for Mending in 2026

The five XP farm schematics that actually hit 50+ levels per hour on DonutSMP, with build costs, mob requirements and which one fits your base.

XP is one of the few things you cannot buy on the Auction House. Mending tools, anvil repairs and enchanting all eat through levels fast, so a reliable XP farm is one of the first things experienced DonutSMP players build after their main base. These are the five farm schematics on the library that actually hold up in 2026, with honest rates from in-game testing rather than wiki numbers.

1. Enderman Farm (End Highway)

  • Rate: 70 to 90 levels per hour
  • Footprint: small platform at Y=128 in the End
  • Materials: around 6 stacks of slabs, water buckets, two beds for the endermite
  • Best for: solo grinders who already have elytra

Still the king. The schematic uses a single endermite in a minecart to force-pack endermen onto a one-block kill zone. Make sure you light up a wide radius around the platform so the spawn rates do not collapse.

2. Guardian Farm (Ocean Monument)

  • Rate: 45 to 60 levels per hour, plus prismarine and raw cod
  • Footprint: drained ocean monument, around 60×60
  • Materials: a lot of sponges or stacks of sand for draining
  • Best for: mid game players who want XP and a real resource supply

Slower than enderman but it pays you in prismarine blocks and shards on the side. The schematic includes the post-drain structure, so you only need to handle the drain yourself or buy sponges from the AH.

3. Bamboo and Cactus Smelter

  • Rate: 30 to 40 levels per hour, fully AFK
  • Footprint: 7×15, surface build
  • Materials: ~2 stacks of furnaces, hoppers, bamboo, cactus
  • Best for: players who want XP while doing something else

A super-smelter that auto-fuels with bamboo and smelts cactus into green dye. Slower per hour but the only farm on this list you can run while you are sleeping or at work.

4. Zombie Piglin Gold Farm

  • Rate: 50 to 70 levels per hour, plus 80+ gold blocks per hour
  • Footprint: built on the Nether roof, around 20×20 platform
  • Materials: magma blocks, slabs, trapdoors, hoppers, chests
  • Best for: anyone with safe Nether roof access

The schematic places magma blocks for damage and funnels piglins to a kill chamber you finish off manually for XP. Switch to the auto-kill variant if you only want the gold and rotten flesh.

5. Mob Spawner Tower (No Cave Required)

  • Rate: 25 to 35 levels per hour
  • Footprint: 9×9 floor, ~30 blocks tall
  • Materials: cobblestone, slabs, water buckets, signs, hoppers
  • Best for: early game, no End or Nether access yet

The starter XP farm. Builds anywhere in the overworld, no spawner needed, and dumps rotten flesh and string into a chest while you grind. Light up everything in a 128 block radius or rates collapse.

How to pick the right one

  • No elytra yet: start with the mob tower or the smelter.
  • Got the End: enderman, no contest.
  • Already farming Nether: piglin gold farm doubles as your gold supply.
  • Need passive XP overnight: only the smelter is safe to leave running.

Mending repair tips

Bring a stack of damaged tools and armour and cycle them in your hotbar while the farm runs. Mending repairs the held items first, so move a piece into your hand only when you actually want to fix it. Keep a totem in your offhand on every farm, the enderman and piglin farms in particular can kill an unprepared player in two hits.

Every farm in this list is available as a free schematic in the Farms category with block lists and AH cost estimates so you can compare before you start gathering.
